Durbanville Animal Hospital was founded in 1986 by Dr Ivan Mendelsohn with Michael Mpushe as his assistant. What started off as a small personal practice in Valmary Park steadily grew into a 2 hospital, 5 veterinarian practice. Dr Mendelsohn retired in 2016, after 30 years of dedication to the practice. Nowadays, our Durbanville hospital has 3 veterinarians, 2 nurses, 2 receptionists and 2 kennel assistants. I am the mother of 2 cats and 2 unruly Jack Russells. I have been with the team since 2007 and despite all the grey hair gained I love the privilege of really getting to know my patients and walking the road with them.
After qualifying in 2003, I worked in the UK for 8 years, gaining valuable experience in veterinary science, as well as pursuing my love for backpacking and travelling. I have a cheeky cat, Winnie, and enjoy cooking, hiking and reading in my free time.
I have been an animal lover, especially dogs, all my life. I currently have 4 little dogs, 2 girls and 2 boys, known as 'The Banger Boys' and the 'Ya-Ya Sisterhood'. I qualified 30 years ago and have experience in welfare and private practice. I love my job as much today as when I first qualified.
I graduated as a veterinary nurse from Onderstepoort in 2013. My wife and I currently have a full house of rescues with two beautiful cats and three energetic dogs. Patient care is the favourite part of my job. I enjoy seeing our patients relax and feel comfortable in our hospital.
I started at the Durbanville Animal Hospital in 2006 after 7 years at Animal Welfare Society. I share my life with Jade, the cutest Bulldog in the entire world. My biggest passion is animals, although I’m terrified of moths and birds.
Grandmother to 5 gorgeous grandchildren with another soon to arrive – absolute joy! I am an avid sports fan and also enjoy baking and crossword puzzles. My 9 years spent on reception at Durbanville Animal Hospital have been awesome, assisting our wonderful clients and their precious pets.
I started working at Durbanville Animal Hospital in 2016 after years of working in pet shops. I have 2 beautiful dogs, Lucy and Sheba, and am adored by the cats in my neighbourhood.
I started working at Durbanville Animal Hospital in 1986 with Dr Mendelsohn. I have 2 pets of my own, 2 dogs Base and Mini. I enjoy watching soccer, boxing, tennis and rugby.
